When a couple contacts you about a wedding that had been postponed and asks if you'd be willing to follow them around St Augustine for their romantic elopement, you say yes. Well, you kind of just hold back a small squeal and smile but eventually you eventually manage to utter "yes".
This was my first elopement, and also my first time to St. Augustine. I've heard such amazing things about the city and I'm only sad I couldn't bring my husband along and stay a night or two! What an amazing place to elope. Before getting ready, Emilee, John David and I walked over to a local restaurant and had some lunch. Usually my wedding days don't start out this way! John David even helped Emilee zip up her dress as there were no bridesmaids or mothers present. Such an intimate moment before they exchanged vows. The ceremony was simple, (very bright) and quiet. It was held in the courtyard of the historic Kenwood Inn where they were staying that night. From then on we got to prance all around the city, admiring the architecture while showcasing this BEAUTIFUL couple taking pictures in all the pretty places we could find. It was a photographer's dream! Gorgeous sunlight, an adorable couple, and no timeline whatsoever. UH-mazing.
Knowing that this entire day was purely focused on the love these two have for each other, seriously made the day perfect. Of course having all your family and friends around is a blessing, and having them there to witness your union is so special. But, sometimes it's really great to take a step back and think about why you're getting married. Do you want a big party, or do you want to vow to love this person until the day you die? For these two the answer was simple. So take a look at some of my favorite moments from our time together.
Congratulations E+JD!
And just because they eloped doesn't mean there weren't any amazing vendors to thank!
