A rising tide lifts all boats... this is the entire thought process behind a wonderful little group called The Rising Tide Society. It's an online community of fellow creative entrepreneurs where we can go to each other for support, help, advice, and to make new friends! It has been a life saver (metaphorically speaking) quite a few times for me and I can't tell you how valuable it is to have a group full of support to run to when I need it.
Anyway, I mention this group because that's how I met this beautiful couple! My husband was headed on a work trip to San Diego, and since I've never been there before and because, well, it's CALIFORNIA, I needed to come... I put out the feelers for anyone in the area interested in having a couple's session while I was there, and fellow photographer Kayla was more than enthusiastic to volunteer! They woke up with the sun so we could catch sunrise at Iron Mountain. This Florida girl born and raised in Ohio has never been near mountains like this. It's nothing spectacular to someone who lives there I suppose, but to me it was magnificent. Watching the sun create this perfect halo of orange and pink around the tip of the mountain as I drove toward the trail just took my breath away. I wish I could have hiked all the way up at that exact moment. Anyone in the area, I recommend it!
Kayla and David are celebrating 6 years of marriage, and for this reason she was able to convince him to join us for this session. (Props to you man, that is early to get up to take pictures.) We were in and out pretty quick because the sun was rising pretty fast. But we were able to get quite a few great shots. I tell you what, having a photo session that is just for FUN and for YOU is the best thing I could recommend for any photographer. The creative freedom you feel is exhilarating! Thank you Kayla for allowing me to shoot exactly what I wanted and for being so adorable. You'd think they got married yesterday the way they looked at each other <3
Enjoy a few favorites from the shoot!
